It’s never been easier to lose money starting an Internet business June 26, 2006

I have written on this subject many times and it never ceases to amaze me to see so many people attempting to start an online business and failing. I cannot overstate enough how difficult it can be to actually make a profit from the Internet. People live by this myth that building an Internet based business is easy to do.
Building a business on the Internet can be even more challenging than a regular business. At least if you own a brick and mortar store you know that eventually someone will walk through the door. The Internet is a beast that only a select few have been able to tame. I’m sure that 99% of the people who attempt an Internet business fail primarily because they underestimate the complexities of the process.
You might as well open a fruit stand at the top of Mt. Everest because that’s about how difficult it can be to bring people to your website. I have spoken to hundreds if not thousands of people who think they have that one idea that is sure to bring them a fortune online only to be disappointed later on.
The Internet can be profitable only with proper planning just as with any business. You need to have a strong business plan for your business before you attempt anything. Some people may think that a business plan is not necessary but I could not disagree more.
Then you have the people who try every hair-brained scheme on the Internet to make a quick buck. We hear stories of overnight success and we think we can do it too. In reality that’s like winning the lottery because it really doesn’t happen as often as you might think. Everyone is looking for the homerun hit that will bring them instant success and it simply doesn’t happen that way.
If you want to start an Internet business then start with a solid plan first. It doesn’t take much time to sit down and write out your goals and your plan to achieve them. If you plan from the start you will be more likely to have long-term success. Plan for your future not an overnight gamble. If you have what it takes to persevere then you will be creating something that can bring you a lifetimes worth of income. We all have great ideas, so do yourself and your ideas a favor and plan them out first. Start your Internet business off right. Learn more at The Believe Factor

The challenges we face as Internet Marketers June 22, 2006

The one thing all of use in these communities have in common is the drive, passion, and desire to do something better for our families and ourselves. We all try to think outside of the box. If you are anything like me, then you surely are not satisfied with a meager lifestyle, a dead end job, or settling for less when you know you can have more. It is our desires that keep us motivated, intrigued, and full of inspiration and hope.
Recently someone told me “Oh I’m not into that new age stuff”. I simply replied “What new age stuff”? The principals of success are not something new or just discovered. These principals have been around forever. Just because you may be new to these concepts does not mean that the concepts themselves are new.
As an Internet Marketer we start out seeking the knowledge and know-how to achieve success. Some of us get sidetracked because we are tossed into a whirlwind of product promotions, Advertisements, and other distractions. It can be difficult deciding which program will work best for me. Which ebook will tell me what I need to know? We may try some of these things and then we are left with more questions.
The biggest challenge really isn’t about finding the right ebook or program, it’s about finding yourself. Who you are and what you want out of life. You can shrug your shoulders and say to yourself, this guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. But if you haven’t been successful yet then you may want to analyze yourself before judging others. Success doesn’t come easy for most people. The reason is because we resist it in our minds even when we think we are headed in the right direction.
Becoming successful in business has to start with becoming successful in life. Are you doing the things you know you should be doing? Are you focused on what you really want? We all have a million great ideas bouncing around in our heads but no way to express them. We look and look for solutions but in the end we are disappointed at the outcome. Part of the reason for this disappointment is the fact that we do not take the time to plan. Too many people are looking for the grand slam home run that will make them an overnight millionaire. The truth is that it doesn’t happen like that. We all see and hear stories of overnight success and they do happen but you may as well bank on winning the lottery because the odds are probably better.
Success comes from planning and preparation. It comes from having a vision with the right mindset to act and accomplish the goals you set out to achieve. It comes from believing in yourself and your ideas. Never wavering in your times of despair. Never accepting anything less that your dreams being fulfilled. For some of use this comes easy and for others it takes a bit of work.
Only you can create your own success. You will not find it in a book, a program or anywhere else. That is not to say that we do not still need to educate ourselves because we certainly do. Have you ever heard the phrase “Business smarts”? That’s what you have to have. You have to be smart and act smart. You have to analyze each situation to assess its perceived value to you. You have to find a way to convince yourself that you are successful even before you really are. You must act the part. You must see yourself in those shoes.
Stop yourself for a moment and start observing the world around you. Learn to concentrate on what you want to achieve. Learn as much as you can and store the information in your memory. Remember to be a person of reason, a person of a giving nature, and a person of character. Lastly, Everything you think about requires action. It is through your actions that you will start to see your own progress. Stop worrying about what everyone else is doing and do for yourself! Stop worrying about how to achieve your goals and focus on “KNOWING” that you will see them to fruition.
